I am a former Republican[2] U.S. Representative from Wisconsin.[2] I represented Wisconsin's 8th congressional district.[1] I served in the United States House of Representatives from 1979, first being elected to the Ninety-sixth United States Congress. I was reelected to the succeeding eight congresses serving from January 3, 1979, until January 3, 1997, when I did not run for re-election.[1] Previously, I served in the Wisconsin State Assembly[2] from 1972 to 1978. I was also a lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve.[1] Following my retirement from Congress, I moved to Great Falls, Virginia.[1] NO LIBEL INTENDED
